The World’s Top 2% Scientists ranking is based on data from Scopus, the world’s largest abstract and citation database. The 2025 evaluation draws on data as of August 1, 2025, covering the period 1960–2024. Six citation-based metrics are applied: total citations, Hirsch h-index, co-authorship-adjusted Schreiber hm-index, citations as single author, citations as single or first author, and citations as single, first, or last author. These indicators comprehensively measure both long-term and recent research impact.
