The National University System of Taiwan (NUST) convened its 2024 International Work Circle Exchange Meeting on August 15 at National Chung Hsing University. The event brought together international affairs administrators and staff from member institutions to discuss challenges and opportunities in higher education internationalization and foster inter-institutional cooperation.
Dr. Chi-Chung Chou, Senior Vice President for International Affairs at National Chung Hsing University, opened the meeting. Dr. Chi-Jung Huang, Associate Executive Officer of Bilingual Education and Engagement Resource Office (BEER.c) of National Cheng Kung University delivered a keynote lecture on bilingual education and internationalization, sparking robust discussions.
The afternoon featured parallel sessions for administrators and staff. Administrators shared innovative approaches to campus internationalization and addressed challenges, as well as discussed future collaborations. Staff members exchanged experiences in project execution and process optimization.
To enhance collegial relationships, participants engaged in a hands-on pineapple cake-making activity, under the guidance of technician Chuan-Ming Zhao, at the
NCHU Pilot Plant of Food Science and Biotechnology.
Attendees reported that the exchange was highly beneficial, providing valuable insights and establishing a foundation for future cooperation within the Work Circle.
Senior Vice President Dr. Chou expressed hope that this event will foster deeper collaboration among NUST institutions, elevating Taiwan's higher education internationalization standards and cultivating globally competitive talent.
