英文簡介
The global forest sector is expected to play a major role in achieving the targets set during the Paris Agreement. It is urgently needed to explore practical and promising solutions to the challenges facing Carbon (C) accounting and policy assessment. Likewise, it is imperative to formulate more appropriate perspectives and adept approaches to address those challenges in a better integrated and more effective manner. This seminar will examine some of the major issues encountered in international forest carbon accounting and policy assessment, including the differentiated potentials of C sequestration by forest ecosystems and storage by harvested wood products, the joint production of timber and C, forest C offsetting and credit taking, results-based payments, and many others.
